Privacy Policy

Effective 18 May 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Adbot ("Adbot", "we", "us") collects, uses, stores and shares personal information when you visit adbot.co.za or use the Adbot tracking platform (collectively, the "Service"). We comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Information we collect

  • Account information: name, email address and Google account details you provide when signing in or connecting Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager or Google Ads.
  • Property & tag configuration: read and write access to the GA4, GTM and Ads resources you authorise so we can audit and publish changes on your behalf.
  • Support content: messages, attachments and screenshots you submit through support tickets or email.
  • Usage & device data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referrer, and interactions with the Service, collected via the cookies and tools described in section 3.

2. How we use your information

  • To provide, operate and improve the Service.
  • To authenticate you and connect the third-party Google services you authorise.
  • To respond to support requests and communicate service updates.
  • To measure site performance, diagnose issues and prevent abuse.
  • To comply with our legal obligations.

4. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the operators we rely on to run the Service — including Google (GA4, GTM, Ads, Sign-in), Microsoft (Clarity), and our cloud hosting and email providers — and where required by law. Each operator processes data subject to its own privacy terms and our written agreements with them.

5. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet our legal, accounting and dispute-resolution obligations. Analytics data is retained according to the default retention settings of GA4 and Microsoft Clarity.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email hello@adbot.co.za. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.

7. Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational safeguards to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No internet transmission is entirely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email. The "Effective" date above will be updated accordingly.
